The project focuses on deploying Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) technology at Union Glacier in Antarctica to monitor the structure and dynamics of the grounding zone, using seismic and geodetic data to gain insights into ice sheet stability. We will conduct both active and passive seismic experiment to image the basal structure of the glacier and its temporal variations. We will supplement DAS with 3C nodes to provide vertical components.
