An array of 3-C nodes will be deployed spanning the full area of Mount Rainier National Park in summer 2025. The data will be used to create a 3-D seismic velocity model of the volcano's subsurface and more thoroughly characterize local seismicity with denser and more uniform spatial sampling. The project is a collaboration between Rice University and University of Washington seismology research groups. It will provide field and computational research opportunities for graduate students and undergraduate summer interns.
