This is a helicopter deployment in collaboration with the USGS on Mt. St. Helens. The scientific target is seasonal debris flows that typically happen in late September/early October due to atmospheric river rainfall events that mobilize clays that have dried out through the summer. This is part of the Rainier Lahar Detection System project with the USGS Cascades Volcano Observatory.
