- Description
- This project is designed to test field methodologies for geophysical deployments on planetary bodies. The main purpose is to image the shallow subsurface beneath terrestrial analog sites in the San Francisco Volcanic Field (SFVF), northern Arizona, using active source seismology through the GILA-MONSTER (predecessor of NASA SSERVI GEODES). Data were collected using nodal geophones. The project builds upon previous exploration activities by NASA at SFVF, and the active source seismology will also be used to understand how similar investigations can be conducted on the Moon and Mars.
