- This project is designed to constrain the thickness of soil and alluvial sediments derived from volcanic rock in several areas of the Valles Caldera National Preserve. Near-surface seismic refraction data is being used for subsurface modeling and interpretation of regolith development and to calibrate seismic studies with results obtained from soil pits.
